Solar Camera Configuration Guide

Summary

This setup guide begins with unboxing the unit and mainly focus on wireless dial and power configurations. There are samples of battery and VCA alarms come through Hik-Connect App, along with other related features. Refer to User Manual and Quick Start Guide for more installation details. (Go to the bottom for new update)

Solar Power Camera Kit Installation

1.Box Items

MicroSD, Micro-SIM & Reset on the bottom side (image below)

Note:

This unit is not PoE.
Below settings are available through web interface only (RJ45 connection), please configure and confirm before deployment.

2. Live View

Battery status on the upper right corner (connect and active the unit as usual).

3. Wireless Dial Parameters

Connected status

It only needs the APN from SIM card provider which can be found online; both T-Mobile and AT&T are verified at the moment. APN for AT&T should be NXTGENPHONE, below is T-Mobile in this case.

Dial Plan: act as arming schedule for dial linkage method

** SMS alarm function is not available yet

Please use Internet Explorer (IE) web browser in order to see the IMEI number, in case needed to active the SIM card.

Events are not supported in Low Consumption Mode even they were configured in Full Consumption Mode.

	It will only go to sleep when battery life is below adjustable threshold between 5% ~ 50% (20% by default).	It will only go to sleep according the schedule. (up to 8 time periods)	It will only go to sleep when it meets both power threshold & schedule requirements	Sleep Capture Interval (adjustable between 5 to 1440 minute; which works with Timing Wake linkage to wake up the unit and take an image at set interval during sleeping mode).

6. Miscellaneous

Enable Auto Maintenance (enabled by default): the unit will reboot automatically when enabled

Enable eMMC Protection (enabled by default): show status and protection of the build-in storage (image below)

Built-in storage: about 25 GB which is HDD NO.2 in below image, it can be used to store recording and event captures; or formatted to clear the data. HDD NO.1 is from external SD slot which support up to 256 GB.

Image Parameters Switch: able to adjust image setting accordingly when configured

FAQ:

1. Is it able to connect to local network and SIM card (4G) simultaneously?

Yes, that's how to setup wireless network during the setup phrase basically. Connect RJ45 to network to gain access to web interface first, then RJ45 can be disconnected when wireless access is configured and ready to deploy.

2, Can it use as regular IP camera?

Yes, when RJ45 connected to network; it can search on SADP tool, add to NVR/DVR or IVMS4200 with IP address.

The solar camera kit DS-2XS6A25G0-I/CH20S40 we have released 2 month ago has been sold out. As it has the limitation of the battery cannot be charged below 32F degree, we want to STOP offering this model anymore. Now we have the new one DS-2XS2T47G0-LDH/4G/C18S40 as replacement ready to release.

2T47 has battery built-in, so no need to order the battery pack separately.

2T47 has heater built-in, so it can be charged and operate below 32F degree.
